Born in Dodge City, Kansas, Paul Morrison earned the nickname “The Gunfighter” for his relentless courtroom style. As former Kansas Attorney General and longtime Johnson County District Attorney, he won over 120 jury trail wins, including many high-stakes murder and violent crime cases.
As a defense attorney Morrison has secured many not guilty verdicts on charges ranging from rape, sexual abuse, aggravated battery and murder. Examples include State v. C.W. who was acquitted by a jury of rape in 2024, State v. B.K. who was acquitted of child sexual abuse in 2022, State v. N.S. was acquitted of aggravated battery in 2023. State v. K.K. who was acquitted of First-Degree Murder in 2023. Additionally, Morrison has had several high-profile cases involving sexual abuse and solicitation to commit murder wherein the prosecutor dismissed all charges within a week of a scheduled jury trial.
